Kristopher Dahir is the 1st Nevada candidate to Get the transparency in Politics seal for disclosing background check
Big shout out to Kristopher Dahir, the first candidate in Nevada to receive the Transparency In Politics (TIP) Certification Seal. Kristopher is running for his third term on the Sparks City Council representing Ward 5. He received this seal for posting his background check out the Transparency In Politics website. You can view his background check here. TIP does no vetting or commenting on background checks. TIP simply acts as a platform for transparency with a candidate’s background check through the Peopletrail Company. This report is essentially a resume verification and criminal background check.
“I commit to live out my life with integrity and in an honorable manner which includes letting people see that my background check is clear,” Dahir said in a statement. “If a candidate does have something in their past, it does not rule them out from running but an explanation to those voting for them is in order.”
One of my main goals is to improve the landscape for political candidates, to encourage more candidates of quality to run. I think providing a platform for disclosure can provide that.
